Weekend Getaway ~ Immersive Metalsmithing

Immerse yourself in designing & creating Silver & Stone Jewelry! Make a full suite: ring, pendant, earring & cuff bracelet from the ground up! Day 1 opens at 10am with the silver ring workshop. You'll practice soldering & learn your way around the bench. The afternoon session introduces a silver cuff bracelet. Hand craft your bezel & set around a free-form stone from our stash, or bring your own stone. Day 2, back to the bench to design a pair of earrings & a pendant to complete your ensemble! You'll have had us all to yourselves for 2 days! Get your questions answered & hopefully you'll be inspired you as you go forth into the wild!

This Workshop is perfect for a beginner or as a refresher! Make a beautiful sterling silver ring & finish it off with a stone you set yourself. (if you choose) This 3 hour class is held in our home studio in Spearfish, SD.

All materials are provided. 1-2 students per class. All classes are from 11am - 2pm unless previosly discussed time changes. 

Ages 16 & up are encouraged, under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is also attending the workshop, thank you.

Cost is $200.00 per person

Join Gary for a 4 hour intensive, one on one, private workshop where you will refresh what you learned in the Basic Silversmithing class and expand into more complex processes. You will create & set a silver bezel around an odd-shaped stone to create a beautiful Sterling Silver Pendant, Ring or Cuff Bracelet. Bring your own stone or choose one from our stash!

Price is $250 and is all inclusive.  

*PREQUISITE ~ Must have already taken The Basics of Silversmithing* (preferably within the most recent 6 months for retention)

The links you design in this class can be used in a variety of ways, allowing your creativity to really flow! We start with Sterling Silver wire, shaping & forming ~ all without jigs ~ YES, it's all by hand! Then, we'll hit it with a hammer to create texture, before we polish it to a bright, beautiful finish. We'll even add some little gemstone "dangles" if you wish! 

I've been designing & playing with this design for over 20 years & LOVE sharing my ideas!

I'll teach you how to make PERFECT loops for your connections that you can use in bracelets, necklaces, earrings, or whatever you can dream up! You'll take home the Bracelet you make as you followed along in this fun & informative Workshop.  Whether you’re a beginner or a more practiced designer, there's always something wonderful to learn or share when creatives get together & start playing!

Each session is a little different as I guide you through making several styles of earrings using Sterling Silver, Copper & beads that can include pearls, crystals & other cool stones from my private stash!  You'll take home several pair of earrings after each class!
